Turn this off and I notice improvements right away. Here is what I noticed provided the biggest impact to speed:ġ - Synchronizing crosshairs. However, I ended up switching out my setup because I did think it ran a little smoother on Windows (nothing drastic), but also some trading programs aren't available on Mac. I also tried all sorts of config file changes to make sure I was using the 1080 ti, cleared the UI folder, etc.īasically I found that the issue carried over to the much beefier windows desktop, so I was pretty certain it was not the machine. Eventually what I did was log into my Windows gaming desktop that's really good spec (8600k, 16gb RAM, 1tb NVMe SSD, 1080 ti) at the times I was experiencing problems on the Mac Mini to see if the issue carried over. But sometimes, I would get slowdowns still. The Mac Mini definitely ran it better, and for the most part I was happy. I opted for a 2018 Mac Mini and upgraded the RAM myself to 32gb just so I could know there wouldn't be any issues due to memory.
It ran OK, wasn't thrilled, but I knew since I was trading from home - I'd want a dedicated desktop with LAN. I started trading on ToS on a 2015mbp 15'. Read on for the full shortest story I can give (still super long):
I can share my experience, but the TLDR version is I went from Mac to Windows.
